Descriptive Analysis: Methods for Winning Products Workshop Schedule
Day 1
Morning:
Welcome and Orientation.
Introduction to Descriptive Analysis.Development of descriptive methods is described, including the basic principles and rational for particular approaches.
Organization of a Descriptive Capability (Part I). Panel leader responsibilities, language development/training process, test plans and analysis will be examined.
Afternoon:
Subject Selection & Screening.Participants select an array of screening tests and serve as subjects for qualification.
Language Development - Interactive Session (Part I).Participants will serve
as test subjects and develop a product language.
Day 2
Morning:
Language Development - Interactive Session (Part II).This session will continue
the process begun in Part I.
Statistical Analysis of Descriptive Data (Part I).Participants will be introduced to an analysis of descriptive data focusing on the analysis of variance. Specific application of one-way, replicated two-way AOV, and use of multiple range tests after the F-test to identify product differences will be discussed.
Afternoon:
Strategic Applications of QDA™.Business applications of trained panel data to
Advertising claims, ensure products meet targets prior to consumer validation testing, quality control and shelf life, ingredient substitutions, margin enhancement opportunities, alternate supplier evaluations, competitive intelligence.
Introduction to Flash QDA™.Quick method designed to be the bridge between Marketing and the technical team, train on key sensory drivers of liking for those with a "need to know".
Day 3
Morning:
Language Development - Interactive Session (Part III).This session will
continue the process begun in Part II.
Statistical Analysis of Descriptive Data (Part II).Attendees are provided with examples of descriptive data printouts and decision rules for assessing product and attribute differences and subject performance. Participants work together in small groups problem solving and interpreting data. Includes QDA™ software demonstration.
Afternoon:
Round Table Session.Issues and problems in product evaluation posed by seminar
leaders or attendees will be discussed. Conclusion is by mid-afternoon. However,
the staff will be available for additional dialogue as needed.
